Lake Of The Torches Resort Casino Bar And Grill Supervisor

The primary responsibility of this position is to supervise and manage the activities of the Bar & Grill and Dancing Waters Lounge, and assist in the management of all department operations. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Assisting in the management and performance of the department staff including hiring, scheduling, performance reviews, disciplinary actions, payroll activities and training and development activities.
  • Ensuring that the department staff is providing exceptional guest services to assist in guest relations, profitability of the department and the overall profitability of the Lake of the Torches Resort Casino.
  • Assisting in the monitoring of internal operations including daily operations, scheduling, management of policies and procedures and guest satisfaction.
  • Assigning daily activities and responsibilities to all staff members.
  • Reviewing and assigning staff to appropriate shifts on a daily and weekly basis to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
  • Training and orienting staff to position responsibilities, department operating procedures and maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness guidelines.
  • Computing guest check totals and completing cash handling on assigned Point of Sales System.
  • Managing and maintaining daily tip records for all department staff.
  • Ensuring that all coolers and storage areas/rooms are cleaned and maintained.
  • Assisting in the performance of department staff activities to ensure guest expectations and department operations are performed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Adhering to alcohol awareness programs including ensuring all staff are following protocols, checking guest identification and performing responsible beverage service.
  • Working closely with the Bar and Grill Manager to analyze department performance and implement enhancements to maximize revenues and increase guest satisfaction.
  • Participating in the development and adherence to the department budgets that may include staff and equipment forecasting.
  • Recommending and maintaining department objectives, standards and policies and procedures for review by the Bar and Grill Manager.
  • Resolving associate interdepartmental or guest disputes in accordance with established policies and procedures and informing Bar and Grill Manager of issues and outcomes.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Position relationships include frequent contact with associates at all levels within all departments of the organization and extensive contact with guests and visitors. Occasional contact with suppliers and sales representatives.

The supervisor is responsible for the direct supervision of approximately fifteen associates and operates independently with supervision received from the Bar and Grill Manager. May review major or unusual decisions with the Bar and Grill Manager.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of two years supervisory experience in a high volume, full service, and quality food and beverage environment is required. Prior customer service and cash handling experience is required.

Must possess excellent interpersonal, communication, delegation, problem-solving and people management skills. Must be able to manage and maintain confidential and sensitive information with diplomacy and tact. Must maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations as necessary. Experience with PC's and related software is preferred.

The majority of responsibilities are performed within the food and beverage areas with exposure to differentials in temperature. May be exposed to situations where hazardous chemicals, spills, wet floors or guest behaviors may create undesirable conditions. Must be able to lift up to 75 lb. and walk, sit, stand, or bend for extended periods of time.

Must possess a bartending license and a Serv Safe certificate or have the ability to obtain these and attend responsible beverage service class within 90 days of hire date. Must attend all mandatory meetings and participate in departmental training and development sessions.
