Houseperson
The Houseperson position is responsible for removing linens and trash from checkout rooms, collecting and transporting linens to our in-house laundry facility, and maintaining the cleanliness of an assigned area within the resort. Housepersons help create the best experience possible to resort guests, ensuring the resort is above cleanliness expectations and supporting the AAA Four Diamond brand expectation.
Duties and Responsibilities- Strip used linen and trash from checkout rooms
- Collect trash and linens from hallways and take to appropriate areas
- Collect trash from housekeeping closets and guest laundry rooms
- Collect and replenish pool towels
- Take trash to the compacter and recyclables to the recycling dumpster
- Make beds as assigned
- Assist with radio calls
- Assist with stocking housekeeping closets
- Assist with vacuuming hallways and stairwells
- Perform final hall sweeps
- Empty all trash bins daily
- Promote The Osthoff Resort's service principle by example—respond to/resolve guest inquiries, complaints or concerns in a courteous, timely and efficient manner. Make sure to inform a team leader of any problems.
- Assist coworkers as needed
- All other duties as assigned
- Education:
some high school preferred - Strong customer/ guest service skills
- Must be able to work most weekends during summer and some holidays
- Comfortable working independently and within a team
- Ability to be on your feet for up to 8 hours each day—also be able to use stairs, reach, bend, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
- Must possess a positive attitude as a contributor to a diverse work environment
- Ability to exhibit a cheerful and professional demeanor towards guests and other team members
- Must have the willingness to go above and beyond what is expected to create meaningful guest experiences
- Be able to work and multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Possess great time management skills, with the ability to think on the spot
- Ability to learn quickly and accurately
