Role & DepartmentHuman Resources Generalist in the Human Resources Department
Hours & ShiftFull-time (1.0 FTE) 40 hour per week position. Day time scheduled hours
Role Responsibilities- The Human Resources Generalist works under the direction of the Human Resources Director and is responsible for day-to-day coordination of HR programs and policy application in the following areas: recruiting, compensation, benefits, training, employee and labor relations, wellness and safety
- Will be responsible for developing, managing, communicating, and performing Human Resources related activities at a professional level including: benefits, compensation, employment, policy interpretation, employee relations, celebrations, FMLA, worker’s compensation, and employee wellness efforts
- Will assist in the development and execution of employee benefit plans/policies, and coordinates the administration of existing benefit plans
- Serves as a resource to employees and leadership with Human Resources related topics and issues when needed
- Will work to facilitate excellent employee relations when needed and will be capable of dealing with both pleasant and unpleasant situations
- Will play a vital role in recruitment, onboarding of new employees, students and contracted staff
- Will be effective working in a high volume work area and multi-tasking numerous projects at any one time
- Deal effectively with time pressures and stress
- Must have exceptional interpersonal, verbal communications, a caring and compassionate demeaner and good public speaking skills
Candidates should have a Bachelor’s or Associate's Degree in Business or a Human Resources related field
Prefer candidates with 5 to 7 years of equivalent HR related work experience
Must have a strong knowledge of employment related laws and regulations and the proper application of those laws
Must possess strong computer operating skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite programs
Prior knowledge and experience working with applicant tracking systems and HRIS systems is preferred
Prior health care related business experiences would be beneficial
Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential
Must feel comfortable educating employee(s) on HR issues
Ability to multi-task and to prioritize many projects and work related needs
Must be able to work independently and have a high level of analytical skills
