The HR Generalist will assist with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources and safety functions within BW Paper systems. Responsibilities include departmental development, HRIS, team member relations, training and development, benefits, compensation, safety, organizational development, executive administration, and employment. The role requires sound judgment, tact, interpersonal skills, respect for people, and a strong interest in building a caring culture.
Key Responsibilities- Support talent acquisition by participating in interviews.
- Build strong company brand through promotion of our unique culture and leadership approach.
- Support new hire orientation and onboarding processes for BWP Phillips site.
- Create and maintain weekly and monthly HRIS reporting.
- Work with HR Leadership to administer and implement company policies and practices.
- Share developmental ideas for HR process improvement.
- Track and monitor the performance/developmental review program.
- Answer team member questions regarding benefit programs such as life, health, dental, disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and employee assistance.
- Partner with the wellness and activities committee and other divisional wellbeing leaders to deliver initiatives that are impactful, equitable, and engaging.
- Communicate and collaborate with payroll team to ensure flow of HR information to facilitate timely payroll processing.
- Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations.
- File documents for personnel records, benefits records, and other records as required.
- Coordinate leave, ADA, and workers’ compensation processes.
- Process documentation to support visa requests.
- Ability to deal effectively with a global multi-cultural team.

- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or complaints.

- Ability to analyze data gathered from diagnostic tools and HR metrics.
- Immediate working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in HR or Business Administration preferred.
- 5+ years of HR experience.
- Workday system experience is preferred.
- ADP system experience is a plus.
- Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines.
Occasional Travel: 5–10%.
