In Sheboygan Fallswe heavily support medical, food, and graphic arts customers with thin gauge plastic sheeting for thermoforming and printing applications. You’ve most likely seen a product that was made from materials from our plant—iTunes cards, Home Depot signs, even the covers of comic books.

The Plant Training Coordinator is responsible for training, development, and retention for new manufacturing hires entering the Company and continuing education of hourly production associates. The Plant Training Coordinator will develop and implement annual learning plans for ongoing training needs, and work with the Sr. HR Manager and Plant Leadership Team to identify specific training gaps. Training and development directly impact retention of team members at the facility, therefore the Plant Training Coordinator must be innovative and creative in the role for process improvement and be a representative of the One Spartech culture.

• Ownership of all formalization of new hire training. Create annual plant training, working with Sr. HR Manager and Plant Leadership Team to find a solution to training needs without adverse impact to operations.
• Develop a written training program that includes:
  • Individual coursework per position and operator class
  • Quantified Evaluations for certification of each position
  • Sustainment training for all positions
• Train all new incoming production talent.
• Manage new hire orientation and floor trainers, including all onboarding programs.
• Improve current development and retention programs. Continued talent development of existing talent.
• Develop a career progression path for Operators through the classifications.
• Safety, Efficiency/Proficiency, Quality
• Work with the Plant EH&S Manager.
• Work with the Quality Manager and quality team.
• Work closely with the Sr. HR Manager and Plant Leadership Team to establish special training topics such as:
  • New Product/New Equipment training
  • Special / Non-Standard product training
• Share in L2L administration duties.
• Must understand and have a “One Spartech” mindset to positively enhance the company culture.
• Must Understand and communicate our culture of respectful communication in everything we do.
• Develop and promote positive working relationships with all Team Members, Supervisors & Management.
• All other duties as assigned.

• 3-5 years management experience with direct reports.
• Open to continuing education, as is deemed necessary by senior leadership.
• Required manufacturing experience, prefer plastics industry experience.
• Organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to present ideas, concepts, issues, concerns, and questions in a well thought out, positive, and professional manner.
• Ability to foster an atmosphere of teamwork and respect.
• Functional with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Able to work productively and independently.
• Clear communication skills – verbally and in written form.
• Ability to coach and develop others into becoming better employees.
• Leadership skills, such as but not limited to conflict resolution, encouraging others and inspiring excellent work.
• Ability to take direction humbly and collaborate to define and pursue team goals.
• A positive outlook and attitude in taking initiative and problem solving, unprompted.
