ABS Global, a Genus Company, has an exciting opportunity. We are looking for a Maintenance Technician in the 1st Shift to join our team in Dekorra, WI. In this role, you will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems, as well as evaluate and recommend improvements to enhance equipment availability, capability, and yield. The Maintenance Technician has primary accountability to perform equipment failure analyses, troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems, and prepare technical reports to document equipment modifications and equipment maintenance procedures.

• Likely to act as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Is skilled in a range of processes, procedures and tools/equipment to carry out assigned tasks or has developed deep skills in a single technical area.
• Use knowledge of how the team integrates with others to accomplish the team objectives.
• Provide informal guidance and support to more junior team members.
• Explain technical information within the team.
• Assist and implement health and safety production.
• Understand, implement, and strictly adhere to biosafety and biosecurity measures.
• Take responsibility for transportation, equipment, and facility maintenance and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
• Ensure effective use of equipment and facilities to optimize cost control and assist in managing on-site fuel as applicable.
• Inspect and maintain equipment and facilities used in conjunction with livestock.

• High School Diploma.
• Driver’s license.
• Electrician/welder/stokers license preferred and may be required in some regions.
• 1-2 years of experience in a farm setting.
• 1-2 years of experience with mechanical automation in a farm setting and basic maintenance.
• Works well in a team.
