ESSENTIAL

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Actively engage all Björklunden constituents including guests, donors, prospective students, volunteers, parents of students, etc. to promote a positive attitude towards Björklunden and Lawrence University.
• Assist Chef in kitchen duties including food prep and presentation, dishes, and cleaning.
• Assist with hosting day groups, retreats, luncheons, and other scheduled events that require meal preparation, cleaning, and guest engagement.
• Perform housekeeping/kitchen/serving duties in the lodge as needed.
• Serve as a back-up for other Björklunden team members as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WORKING RELATIONSHIPS:

• Will work collaboratively with all members of the Björklunden team.
• Must be able to provide excellent customer service to all members of the campus community, to respond to and work with students, faculty, staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, and to work independently and with team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Prior experience in food service, and kitchen work preferred; training provided.
• Ability to adhere to kitchen sanitation standards and safety protocols.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to function in fast-paced environments.
• Ability to collaborate with colleagues, including student workers.
• Experience working with young adults preferred.
• Flexibility to work mornings, evenings, split, and/or weekend shifts.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand and remain on feet for extended periods of time throughout the work shift.
• Must be able to safely lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to bend, reach, and perform repetitive motions as needed to fulfill job duties.

Employment Requirements:

• Must have successful completion of criminal record check, driving record check and reference checks.
• Must possess a valid Wisconsin Driver's license and ability to meet University driving standards.
