Fabricators are responsible for fabricating and assembling structural metal products.

• Positions, aligns, fits, and welds together parts by hammering, chipping, and grinding work piece to cut, bend, and straighten metal.
• Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, and drill presses.
• Sets up and operates machine tools associated with fabricating shops such as radial drill press, end mill, and edge planer.
• Designs and constructs templates and fixtures upon receiving approval from supervisor.
• Locates and marks bending and cutting lines onto work piece.

• Ability to work from established layout and follows sequence of operations.
• Able to enter information into established computer system, production records, logs, time clock, and other forms.
• Can verify conformance of work piece to specifications.
