Overview

Material Handler - 1st Shift at Oldcastle Building Envelope (OBE). The role focuses on handling glass pieces and rotating them through tempering, laminating, cutting, or shipping processes and reports to the Department Supervisor.

The Material Handler is focused on handling glass pieces and rotating them through the various phases of the tempering, laminating, cutting, or shipping processes and reports to the Department Supervisor. This role requires strong attention to safety, quality, and efficiency, a solid work ethic, and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Job responsibilities include:

• Move glass product from tables, rolling racks, delivery trucks, or wood crates for eight or more hours daily
• Transport materials including glass from one position/location to another to expedite production
• Quality inspection, operate equipment, and/or manually maneuver equipment
• Utilize a tape measure to ensure product is within specifications
• Maintain a safe and clean work area

• Must be at least 18 years old and able to work safely in a manufacturing environment
• Must understand units of measurement and be able to perform general mathematical equations
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal direct supervision
