This role plays a critical part in producing large fabricated structures and precision-machined components used in demanding maritime and defense applications. You'll work on a state-of-the-art Soraluce 5-axis floor bar machine, tackling projects that require advanced machining knowledge, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.

- The Work You'll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Set up and operate a Soraluce Horizontal 5-Axis Floor Bar machine
Machine large, complex weldments and fabricated structures in 3-axis through 5-axis applications
Independently set up intricate work pieces and fixturing
Read and interpret advanced blueprints, engineering drawings, and job layouts
Verify tool paths and perform collision analysis prior to machining operations
Select tooling and establish machine setups using setup documentation
Machine stainless steel, aluminum, exotic alloys, and high-temperature materials
Hold dimensional requirements while maintaining production efficiency
Perform in-process inspections and quality verification
Operate overhead cranes and perform rigging operations for large-part handling
Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
Maintain equipment and a safe, organized work environment

- What We're Looking For Required
5+ years of CNC machining experience
Strong 5-axis machining background
Experience with tool path verification and collision analysis
Ability to independently perform complex machine setups
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
Strong understanding of tooling, fixturing, offsets, and machining processes
Experience using precision measuring instruments
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds
Ability to stand for extended periods
Preferred
Heidenhain TNC-7 control experience
Experience machining large weldments and fabricated structures
Experience working with weldments up to 90 feet in length
Basic M-Code and G-Code knowledge
Completion of a machining or CNC technology program
Experience with quality gauging and inspection setups
Marine, defense, heavy equipment, or large-part machining experience
