Metal Shop Certified Welder

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Metal Shop Certified Welder is responsible for fabricating production assemblies used in precast manufacturing, ensuring all work meets company and PCI certification standards. This role involves welding, cutting, and assembling components using shop equipment such as welders, saws, presses, and forklifts. The position plays a key role in supporting efficient production through high‑quality, accurate, and safe fabrication work.

• Perform welding operations that meet company and PCI certification standards.
• Operate shop equipment including welders, forklifts, shears, punches, drill presses, and band saws.
• Fabricate and assemble production components used in precast manufacturing.
• Build and set up jigs for fabrication work as needed.
• Read and interpret basic blueprints and production drawings.
• Use gas/acetylene torches for cutting and fabrication tasks.
• Transport and handle materials safely within the shop environment.
• Ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and safely.
• Maintain compliance with safety procedures and quality standards.
• Support additional shop and production tasks as assigned.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Welding certification preferred (willingness to test and certify required).
• Ability to read blueprints, steel orders, and basic technical documents.
• General math skills and ability to accurately read a tape measure.
• Forklift and overhead crane experience preferred (training provided).
• Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
