Job Summary
As 3rd shift Production Supervisor, you will lead hourly employees in the Cheese and Drying departments, ensuring high‑quality production within scheduled timelines while maintaining safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and coach hourly employees, providing performance reviews and mentorship.
- Make corrections and coordinate with Production Leads and Trainers.
- Promote diversity and inclusion within the team.
- Focus on continuous improvement in cost, quality, service, people, and environment through efficient use of materials, equipment, and resources.
- Share best practices within the facility, across the supply chain, and with external resources to achieve advanced manufacturing and supply chain technologies.
- Partner with plant management, quality, maintenance, human resources, scheduling, and logistics to align goals.
- Ensure safety, quality, delivery, and morale at the Kiel facility.
- Investigate root‑cause and corrective action for unplanned events.
- Maintain compliance with GMPs and the Food Safety Plan.
- Coordinate with supervisors and functions to optimize operations and resources.
- Plan and establish work schedules, assignments, and production schedules to meet and exceed customer requirements and business goals.
- Analyze the financial impact of line efficiency, material yield, and labor productivity on plant budgets and develop action plans to address gaps.
- High school diploma or GED with at least 2 years of shift‑supervision experience (preferably in food processing).
- Experience with GMPs, HACCP, sanitation, and quality assurance.
- Strong leadership, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation communication skills at all company levels.
- Positive influence and ability to lead through example.
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Effective cross‑functional communication in a fast‑paced environment.
- Lean manufacturing knowledge and continuous improvement experience.
- Ability to manage multiple projects while remaining organized and detail‑oriented.
- Preferred: A four‑year degree in Business Administration, Science/Food Science, Engineering, Agriculture, or related field.
- Preferred: 1+ year of operations experience, supervisory experience in a unionized environment, and openness to relocation.
- Preferred:
Lean Management and continuous improvement experience.
Requires occasional walking, standing, handling small objects, reaching, stooping, climbing stairs and ladders, lifting up to 50 pounds, and use of hearing and vision. Work conditions may include temperature fluctuations, occasional high noise levels requiring protective equipment, and exposure to weather conditions.
Work Schedule and Compensation3rd shift: 10:45pm–7:00am. Overtime, weekend, and holiday hours may be required. Pay range: $70,800.00–$88,500.00–$ USD per year.
