WHAT YOU GET TO DO
Assistants will aid in all aspects of operation of press lines, including change‑overs, machine start‑up, running and shut‑down, and support operations in becoming World Class in all aspects of the business, beginning with Safety.
- Assist operator in running all jobs in accordance with customer specification, manufacturing specification, print specification, color folders and standard operating procedures.
- Assist operator in setting up jobs according to established S.O.C.’s (standard operating conditions), and to report and follow up on any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Assist operator in ensuring all printed material is free of defects.
- Ensure all jobs are run in accordance with all written specifications including manufacturing specs, customer specs, print specs, color folders and standard operating conditions.
- Work with press operator to minimize job change‑over and down time.
- Ensure all materials such as inks, stocks, cylinders, cores and aniloxes are ready for the next job.
- Assist and aid maintenance to get the machine back on line and productive.
- Work with the press operator, manufacturing specialist and press supervisor to understand and complete each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
- Maintain knowledge and understanding of product safety.
- Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (Cross Training, moving to the work).
- Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
- Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs.
- Willing and able to stand and walk for an 8/12‑hour shift.
- Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
- Frequent use of wrist and hands.
- Frequent stepping up and down from platforms.

- Team player with good communication skills and ability to work independently.
- Previous manufacturing experience.
- Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Visual acuity to perform visual inspection including the use of measurement devices and ability to identify and distinguish colors.
- Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment.
