A growing and well-established metal fabrication manufacturer in Walworth County, Wisconsin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support production, improve processes, and help drive operational excellence in a dynamic, high-mix manufacturing environment. This is an outstanding opportunity for an engineer who enjoys hands-on troubleshooting, continuous improvement, and making an immediate impact on manufacturing performance.
- Process improvements across fabrication operations including cutting, forming, machining, and welding
- Real-time troubleshooting and resolution of manufacturing issues
- Improvements in efficiency, throughput, and product quality
- Support of production standards, inspection requirements, and process consistency
Key Responsibilities:- Provide daily engineering support to production teams
- Improve workflows, tooling, fixturing, and fabrication processes
- Create and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and prints
- Support PPAP activities including PFMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams
- Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Purchasing to drive results
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities throughout the manufacturing process
Must-HaveQualifications:
- Hands-on manufacturing mindset with strong fabrication aptitude
- Experience using CAD software such as Solid Works, Draft Sight, or AutoCAD
- Ability to bridge engineering concepts with practical shop-floor execution
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience in fabrication environments involving laser cutting, press brakes, machining, and/or welding
- Familiarity with PPAP, ISO, and quality management systems
- Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement experience
- Manufacturing engineering experience within a production environment
- True hands-on engineering role with significant shop-floor involvement
