Full Time Welder ​/ Assistant Shop Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced welding and fabrication tasks, producing high-quality components, and ensuring work is completed safely, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and highly skilled in multiple welding processes and fabrication equipment.

This is a full-time position, Monday-Friday from 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM CST

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Shop Manager in supervising daily shop operations workflow, and team performance.
• Help manage production scheduling, shop supplies, and inventory.
• Ability to perform job estimates and communicate professionally with clients is a plus.
• Assist with training and mentoring junior fabricators or welders as needed.
• Perform MIG, TIG, and stick welding on various metals, including steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
• Fabricate parts and assemblies from blueprints, sketches, and verbal instructions.
• Set up and operate fabrication equipment including saws, brakes, shears, drills, and grinders.
• Measure, cut, fit, and weld components with precision.
• Verify dimensions and quality using appropriate tools.
• Conduct routine inspection of welds for accuracy, quality, and structural integrity.
• Maintain equipment and report any issues or needed repairs.
• Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
• Support continuous improvement efforts within the fabrication department.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of welding and metal fabrication experience preferred.
• Strong proficiency with MIG welding; TIG and stick welding experience.
• Welding certifications preferred .
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in using fabrication tools and machinery.
• Strong math and measurement skills.
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• High school diploma or equivalent; trade school certificate a plus.
• Valid driver’s license preferred
