Set-Up Technician

The Set-Up Technician installs, sets up, operates, and maintains production equipment to support efficient manufacturing operations. This role ensures equipment runs safely and reliably, supports quality standards, and provides clear communication to production and quality teams. The technician performs mechanical adjustments, changeovers, and basic repairs while maintaining accurate documentation and a clean, organized work area.

Responsibilities
  • Set up, operate, and maintain production equipment to support daily manufacturing operations.
  • Perform professional, lasting modifications and repairs to existing equipment under the direction of management or qualified associates.
  • Ensure products meet specified cosmetic criteria and clearly communicate these standards to employees on the production floor.
  • Relay relevant product and quality information to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors, and peers in both written and verbal form.
  • Document production activities, maintenance work, and quality control audits accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Organize and maintain the order and cleanliness of equipment, storage areas, and the department as a whole.
  • Perform equipment changeovers and setups to support different products and production runs.
  • Assist with troubleshooting mechanical issues on various machinery to minimize downtime.
  • Support preventive maintenance activities to improve equipment reliability and performance.
  • Carry out other duties and projects as required by production and business needs.
Essential Skills
  • Proven ability to set up and operate production machinery in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with mechanical systems and components.
  • Experience troubleshooting mechanical issues on various types of machinery.
  • Ability to perform equipment changeovers efficiently and accurately.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance practices on production equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints or technical documentation.
  • Strong attention to cosmetic and quality criteria for finished products.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for sharing product and quality information.
  • Ability to maintain accurate documentation of production, maintenance, and quality control audits.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to keep equipment, storage areas, and the department clean and orderly.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Plastic injection molding experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting plastic injection molding machinery is a plus.
  • Comfort working with multiple types of production equipment and adapting to new machinery.
  • Ability to collaborate with operators, inspectors, supervisors, and peers in a team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness to support different shifts and projects based on production needs.

Work Environment

This role is based in a manufacturing facility operating multiple shifts to support continuous production. Available schedules include 1st Shift (Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.), 2nd Shift (Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.), and 3rd Shift (Sunday–Thursday, 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m.), with multiple openings across shifts. You will work around production machinery and equipment, performing setups, changeovers, and maintenance tasks on the shop floor. The environment emphasizes organization and cleanliness, with a strong focus on maintaining orderly equipment and storage areas.

Standard manufacturing attire and appropriate safety gear are expected to support a safe and efficient workplace.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mukwonago, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $30.00/hr.
