CNC Machinist – Mold Manufacturing
This role focuses on programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes to produce high-precision molds in a clean, climate-controlled shop. You will work with small production runs where each part must meet extremely tight tolerances, using your CNC machining and mold experience to deliver consistent, high-quality results.
Responsibilities- Program, set up, and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce precision molds.
- Read and interpret 3D CAD models, blueprints, and technical data to determine machining requirements and optimal processes.
- Set up machines using appropriate fixtures, clamps, and overhead cranes for larger components to ensure safe and accurate machining.
- Inspect machined parts using precision measuring tools to verify dimensions and adherence to tight tolerances, down to.001 of an inch.
- Perform CNC program editing as needed to refine machining operations and improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Work on small production runs, typically 1–8 parts, ensuring each part is produced correctly the first time.
- Focus on mold machining applications, applying specialized knowledge to meet exacting mold specifications.
- Handle medium-sized parts and occasionally large components, particularly on third shift, using proper setup and handling techniques.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow shop procedures to support a safe and efficient work environment.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in CNC machining.
- Hands-on experience programming and setting up CNC mills and lathes, including program editing.
- Ability to read and interpret 3D CAD models, blueprints, and technical data.
- Strong experience in machining precision molds.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools and inspection methods to verify tight tolerances to.001 of an inch.
- Experience working with small-run production (typically 1–8 parts) where accuracy and repeatability are critical.
- Capability to safely use fixtures, clamps, and overhead cranes for larger components.
- Solid understanding of CNC machining processes and best practices for mold manufacturing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience on both first and third shifts in a machining environment.
- Comfort working primarily with medium-sized parts and occasionally large parts.
- Attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality in every part produced.
- Ability to thrive in a smaller, close-knit team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make precise adjustments to CNC programs and setups.

The shop is climate controlled, well lit, and kept clean to support high-precision mold machining. Work is focused on small runs of 1–8 parts, with an emphasis on accuracy and tight tolerances.
This is a Permanent position based out of Slinger, WI.
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $115000.00/yr.
