We’re hiring a
Welder/ Fabricator to join County Prestress in Roberts, WI.
As a
Welder/Fabricator , you will read blueprints, fabricate metal components, and perform
welding operations (MIG, TIG, SMAW/Stick) to assemble structures and equipment. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with a variety of metals in a fast-paced fabrication environment.
You will operate equipment such as plasma cutters, grinders, cranes, and forklifts , ensuring all work meets quality, safety, and welding standards .
JobDuties & Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
- Cut, bend, shape, and assemble metal components using fabrication tools
- Perform welding using:
- MIG welding
- TIG welding
- Stick welding (SMAW)
- Ironworkers & shears
- Drill presses & grinders
- Inspect welds to ensure structural integrity and code compliance
- Work with a variety of metals (steel, stainless steel, copper, alloys)
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Complete work orders, job documentation, and quality checks
- Follow all OSHA and workplace safety standards

Qualifications:
- Minimum 2+ years of welding and fabrication experience
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and Stick welding
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints
- Experience using fabrication tools and heavy equipment
- Strong understanding of metal properties and welding safety
- Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship
- Ability to lift materials and perform physically demanding work
- Strong hand-eye coordination and mechanical aptitude
- AWS Certification (American Welding Society) preferred
- Work is typically performed in an indoor fabrication/ shop
- Exposure may include: [Noise, weather, machinery, chemicals, public interaction, etc.]

Day shift
