CNC Machinist
Job
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Run most CNC machining jobs across the shop floor with flexibility to operate different machines and production cells.
- Perform changeovers for similar jobs within a designated CNC production cell.
- Troubleshoot CNC machine problems and error conditions.
- Demonstrate a basic understanding of G&M code and make basic code edits when required.
- Identify and correct tooling-related issues.
- Identify when tool offsets and work offsets are required and make adjustments independently.
- Perform rework operations on machined parts when necessary.
- Monitor machining processes to maintain production and quality requirements.
- Maintain tools, machines, and work areas in safe operating condition.
- Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with shop-floor procedures.
- Follow job packets, material handling procedures, product identification requirements, and established production processes.
- Follow company safety policies and procedures.
- Support continuous improvement and maintain efficient and accurate machining performance.
- Perform other comparable machining and production duties as assigned.
Qualifications and
Certifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior CNC machining experience preferred.
- Experience operating CNC production equipment.
- Ability to run multiple types of CNC jobs across the shop floor.
- Experience performing CNC job changeovers.
- Knowledge of CNC tooling and machining processes.
- Ability to troubleshoot CNC machine problems and errors.
- Basic understanding and editing experience with G&M code.
- Ability to independently identify and adjust tool offsets and work offsets.
- Experience performing CNC rework operations.
- Knowledge of gauges and tooling preferred.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining production and quality standards.
- Ability to frequently lift and carry materials up to 100 pounds with available hoists/forklifts.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform required bending, squatting, twisting, kneeling, and other physical activities.
Training / Technical Knowledge:
- Basic CNC Horizontal Machining Center training.
- Basic CNC Lathe training.
- Basic CNC Vertical Machining Center training.
- CNC troubleshooting procedures.
- Basic G&M code understanding and editing.
- Tool offset and work offset procedures.
- Quality records and procedures training.
- ISO 9001 quality policy and procedures.
- Job packet and material handling procedures.
- Shop floor procedures.
- Product identification procedures.
- Safety training and company policies.
