Winder/Wrapper Operator – Night Shift (6 PM – 6 AM)

Job Type: Full-time

Shift: Night Shift (6 PM – 6 AM)

Starting Pay: $21.53/hour (with scheduled increases)

Sign-On Bonus: $1,500 for new employees (scheduled over one year)

Night Shift Premium: Additional $1/hour

Weekend Shift Premium: Additional $2/hour

Schedule: 2-2-3 Rotating Shift – 12-hour shifts (6 PM – 6 AM). Work 14 days per month with every other weekend off. Training on days (6 AM–4 PM) for approximately 4 weeks.

2-2-3 Schedule Example

  • Week 1:
    Work Monday & Tuesday;
    Off Wednesday & Thursday;
    Work Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Week 2:
    Off Monday & Tuesday;
    Work Wednesday & Thursday;
    Off Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • This rotation provides built-in days off, a consistent schedule, and every other weekend off.

    Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
    • Perform all set-up and change-over steps to load, operate, and tear down paper winding and/or wrapping machines
    • Troubleshoot/diagnose process issues due to paper or machine setup variations
    • Perform hands-on operations such as loading/unloading machines, packing, and cleanup
    • Meet quality and efficiency standards
    • Operate multiple machines simultaneously
    • Follow written procedures (OMS Sheets, ISO quality procedures, company policies)
    • Read and interpret work orders
    • Perform tasks assigned by department lead, scheduler, supervisor, and management
    • Attend safety training programs
    • Participate in continuous improvement efforts
    • Perform other duties as assigned
    • Report any food safety issues or concerns
    Qualifications (Job Specifications)
    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Factory experience preferred but not required
    • Ability to do basic math
    • Basic communication skills
    • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, specifications, safety rules, and operating manuals
    • Strong organizational skills and time management

    Primary Purpose of the Role

    Produce paper straws of acceptable quality to order and specification, while operating the work center in a safe and efficient manner and troubleshooting machinery as needed.
