Production Grinding Operator

Charter Aarrowcast is seeking a Production Grinding Operator to support high-volume gray and ductile iron casting production in our Shawano, WI foundry. In this role, you will operate grinding and finishing equipment to remove gates, risers, and excess material from castings, ensuring they meet strict dimensional and surface-quality standards. You will inspect parts, use measurement tools, follow detailed work instructions, and document production results.

This position works in a safety-focused, team-based environment with opportunities to develop technical skills and grow within Charter Manufacturing.

Responsibilities

• Operate grinding and finishing equipment to remove excess material from gray and ductile iron castings
• Inspect castings for defects, dimensional accuracy, and surface finish per quality standards
• Read and follow production orders, work instructions, and safety procedures
• Use hand tools, gauges, and measurement devices to verify product specifications
• Safely handle, move, and stage castings with material handling equipment
• Perform basic equipment checks, cleaning, and routine preventive maintenance
• Accurately record production, scrap, and downtime data in required systems
• Communicate issues with equipment, materials, or quality to supervisors promptly
