The American National Red Cross seeks a Biomedical Equipment Repair Technician II to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical and laboratory equipment supporting lifesaving blood and health services. In this mission-driven role, you will perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, safety and performance testing, and emergency repairs to ensure equipment reliability and regulatory compliance. You will document work in maintenance systems, support inspections and audits, collaborate with clinical and technical staff, and occasionally provide on-call support, helping ensure safe, effective care for donors and patients nationwide.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair biomedical and laboratory equipment to minimize downtime
  • Perform preventive maintenance, calibrations, and safety checks per schedules and procedures
  • Document all work in the maintenance management system and maintain accurate service records
  • Support regulatory and safety compliance for equipment used in blood and health services
  • Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for parts, repairs, and technical support
  • Assist clinical and technical staff with equipment use, issues, and basic user training
  • Participate in on-call or after-hours support for critical equipment failures as needed
