Description OVERVIEW
Are you an experienced Press Brake Operator ready to take the next step in your career? Cadrex is looking for Press Brake Set-Up professionals at the Level I and Level II levels to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up and adjusting press brake machines, tooling, and processes to produce quality parts that meet customer specifications.
Our Set-Up team plays a critical role in keeping production running efficiently. You will work closely with Press Brake Operators, Quality, and leadership to ensure jobs are set up correctly, quality standards are met, and production stays on schedule. Candidates will be aligned to Press Brake Set-Up I or II based on their experience, technical skills, and demonstrated abilities.

- Set up and adjust press brake machines, tooling, and equipment for production
- Install, change, align, and adjust tooling based on job requirements
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work instructions, and production documentation
- Set up jobs to meet required angles, dimensions, tolerances, and production specifications
- Operate press brake equipment as needed to verify setups and produce parts
- Use precision measuring tools such as calipers, height gauges, protractors, and other inspection equipment
- Complete first-piece and periodic inspections to verify product quality
- Make minor machine and process adjustments as needed
- Troubleshoot basic machine, tooling, and process issues
- Clear machine alarms and identify conditions requiring maintenance support
- Ensure materials, tooling, and packaging are available and ready for production
- Monitor production processes to ensure quality, efficiency, and required output
- Maintain accurate and timely production and quality documentation
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
- Follow all safety procedures, including the proper use of machine guards, laser guards, and other required safety equipment
- Support continuous improvement efforts related to safety, quality, productivity, and scrap reduction
- Assist and provide guidance to Press Brake Operators with machine operation, measuring, blueprint reading, and minor adjustments
- Help ensure smooth transitions between scheduled jobs
- Perform Press Brake Operator duties when needed
- As a Set-Up I, you will develop and demonstrate the ability to independently prepare press brake machines and processes for production.
- Set up assigned press brake machines according to established specifications.
- Install and adjust tooling to prepare machines for production.
- Verify setups using precision measurement tools.
- Make necessary adjustments to achieve required dimensions and angles.
- Perform first-piece inspections and obtain required approval before production begins.
- Make minor machine adjustments and clear alarms.
- Identify and report machine, tooling, material, or process issues.
- Ensure jobs are operator-ready with minimal adjustments required.
- Assist operators with proper inspection techniques and machine operation.
- Provide work instructions and answer questions when a lead or supervisor is unavailable.
- Assist with training new employees.
- Work efficiently in a fast-paced production environment while maintaining quality standards.
