- Standard knowledge of G-codes, write or edit G-code, program adjustments, set up complex tooling, align fixtures, and set precise work offsets with little to no supervision.
- Perform independent tool changes, selecting proper cutting tools, loading raw materials in CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Deep understanding of speeds, feeds, and metal properties.
- Identify surface finish issues, tool wear, or dimensional drift and adjust speeds and feeds. to fix them. Finding the root cause of a tough issue and figuring out a smart way to fix it.
- Read and interpret complex 2D and 3D technical drawings, geometric dimensioning, and tolerancing.
- Adjust quickly to new tools, changing environments, and emerging trends.
- Diagnose sudden mechanical or programming errors quickly to reduce machine downtime.
- Working knowledge of CAD/CAM software to review and verify toolpaths and simulate operations for process optimization.
- Use precise inspection tools like micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical comparators to verify that parts meet exact tolerances.
- Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts stay within tight production tolerances.
- Maintain strict safety and quality standards to avoid costly scrap and errors.
- Responsible for protecting and maintaining all Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) appropriately to prevent unauthorized access, dissemination, or use of this information, documentation, or products; including authorized and proper use of such information in regard to marking, storing, transmitting, and destruction of data.
- Support all visitors and security policies to protect ITAR/EAR/CMMC/CUI information, documents, products, etc. from unauthorized access by informing management immediately of any concerns.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in employee’s work area.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Regular and acceptable attendance is an essential function of this job.
- Serves as a technical resource for CNC machining, providing guidance and mentorship to fellow machinists and machine operators and supporting the resolution of complex machining and production issues.
- Communicate and collaborate effectively with shift supervisors and diverse groups to reach shared goals through innovative ideas and approaches.
