Site Packaging​/Assembly- 1st Shift

Location: Rothschild

Position Summary:

Wausau Tile is seeking a hardworking, energetic, quality-, and safety-minded individual to join our Finishing Department as a Site Packaging/Assembly. The ideal candidate will work well both independently and collaboratively, with little to no supervision. This role requires the ability to read and understand production paperwork such as schedules and quality documentation, operate measuring and hand tools, and be mechanically inclined to set up and operate packaging machinery and related equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

Packaging & Material Handling:

Operate forklifts and job cranes to transport table components from the stocking area to the packaging station.

Build crates as needed to support production demands.

Band, wrap, label, and document each pallet accurately to ensure proper identification and tracking.

Input production data into the computer system for accurate record-keeping and workflow visibility.

Move finished pallets to designated warehouse storage locations, ensuring proper handling and placement to prevent damage or misplacement.

Equipment Operation & Support:

Learn and perform blasting and sealing operations as needed to support departmental coverage.

Set up and operate packaging equipment, performing basic maintenance and cleaning to ensure reliability and quality standards.

Must be able to pass a fit test and wear a respirator when performing required tasks.

General Maintenance & Safety:

Maintain a clean and organized work area, performing daily housekeeping and routine equipment maintenance.

Follow all safety protocols and use required PPE.Report hazards or unsafe conditions immediately to a supervisor.

Assist in other departmental tasks as needed to support production flow and team goals.

Tools / Equipment Used:

Hand Tools:
Tape machines, box cutters, banding tools.

Power Equipment:
Electric floor forklift, palletizer, computer systems.

Physical Requirements:

Prolonged periods of standing, walking, bending, stretching, twisting, and lifting.

Ability to adjust, lift, and move objects up to 50 lbs in all directions.

Repetitive motions involving wrists, hands, shoulders, knees, back, and neck.

Ability to ascend or descend ladders, stairs, and work platforms.

Frequent computer use for logging and tracking production data.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Forklift Operation:
Experience operating forklifts and job cranes preferred; training will be provided.

Mechanical

Skills:

Ability to operate and perform basic maintenance on packaging equipment and tools.

Attention to Detail:
Must accurately label, document, and track production data.

Physical Stamina:
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks and wear a respirator when required.

Team Player:
Able to work independently and as part of a team, following supervisor direction and supporting department goals.
