WHAT THIS ROLE WILL BE DOING:

Wausau Supply Company is seeking a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Communications Intern for Summer 2026. This role will support high-impact internal and external initiatives that strengthen employee engagement, elevate brand storytelling, and amplify our culture across all locations.

Reporting to the Communications Manager, the intern will gain hands-on experience in content creation, internal communications, multimedia storytelling, and campaign execution-all while contributing to meaningful projects that shape the employee experience at a rapidly growing, 100% employee-owned company.

Key Responsibilities

1. Content Creation & Storytelling

* Write employee spotlights, ESOP stories, and location features for internal newsletters and social media.

* Assist with scripting, storyboarding, and coordination for video projects, such as interviews and legacy pieces.

* Support podcast production including episode prep, guest coordination, and creating post-production summaries.

2. Campaign Support

* Contribute to summer campaigns highlighting core values.

* Assist with branded t-shirt rollouts and messaging.

* Support communication planning for the company's annual United Way campaign.

3. Digital & Social Media

* Create and schedule posts for Wausau Supply's Linked In Life pages and other digital platforms.

* Monitor engagement analytics and develop performance reports.

* Assist with content drafts and calendar planning.

4. Internal Communications

* Contribute content, ideas, and planning support for the internal newsletter.

* Assist with communications surrounding summer events, including holiday party planning and National Sales Meeting preparation.

What We're Looking For

* Currently pursuing a degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Public Relations, Digital Media, or related field.

* Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.

* Interest in storytelling, brand messaging, and employee engagement.

* Familiarity with social media platforms (especially Linked In).

* Bonus: experience with video production, design tools, or podcasting.
