Job Summary
The Wisconsin Athletics Game Day and Fan Experience team is seeking an Assistant Director of Game Day and Fan Experience to join our staff and help lead marketing initiatives that drive attendance, enhance fan engagement, and elevate the gameday experience for the Badger volleyball program. We work to enrich the lives of our student-athletes and supporters by building marketing strategies that stay true to the Wisconsin brand, move people emotionally, and inspire them to take action.
TypicalResponsibilities
- Develop pre-, post-, and in‑game promotional activities to enhance revenue and improve game atmosphere.
- Create promotions targeted at specific fan segments per department research.
- Assist in crafting game day materials such as scripts, directing in‑game timing and execution of promotions, on‑field game presentation, video board features, music, public address reads, and other elements during the season.
- Manage other assigned gameday responsibilities such as game day preparation (set‑up/tear‑down, etc.).
- Assist in planning and execution of special projects or events related to the athletic department and support efforts for all sports.
- Oversees creative development and project management processes for marketing activities.
- Develops, edits, monitors, and provides feedback on content.
- Segments audiences, identifies marketing opportunities, evaluates competition, integrates marketing tactics, and measures marketing program results.
- Develops operational plans in support of marketing projects and campaigns including staffing and resource allocation, and oversees execution of operations that adhere to deadlines and budgets.
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in promotional marketing and/or event presentation.
- Experience managing students or intern programs.
- Ability to work with students, coaches, and administrators in a broad range of situations.
- Ability to manage budgets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Extraordinary focus on customer service; service and solution‑oriented.
- Good understanding of athletics and ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to work non‑standard hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Understanding of collegiate volleyball rules and timeout format.
- Experience using Shoflo.
- Familiarity with 7 Point Audio.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, Education, Sports Administration, or related field.
Minimum starting salary is $67,412, negotiable based on qualifications and experience.
