OB anesthesia is available in-house 24/7 to assist with patient care. Respiratory Therapy is on-site to support special care nursery babies. Tele/monitor techs are not present on this unit, and RNs are required to read their own strips.
The electronic fetal monitoring system used is Novii. Self-scheduling is available for shifts, which are primarily 12 hours long. The unit has a weekend requirement of every third weekend and a holiday requirement of every other holiday. There is a possibility of floating to other units based on staffing needs, but not as a primary nurse. Hospital-issued scrubs are provided for staff.
