• One year recent experience as a Labor and Delivery RN
• Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring Certification
• STABLE and ACLS Certifications (AHA/ARC)
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

• Communicate labor and delivery procedures to patients and families
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with approved obstetric nursing techniques
• Prepare equipment and aid physician during labor, delivery, and examination of patients
• Provide immediate postpartum care, including assessment and stabilization of mother and newborn
• Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care
• Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesiologists, neonatologists, and other team members to deliver cohesive care
• Respond to obstetric emergencies, including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, or fetal distress, using evidence‑based protocols
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance maternal and neonatal outcomes
• Perform fetal monitoring and interpret results
• Assist in cesarean sections and other obstetric procedures
• Comply with all regulatory standards, including hospital policies, state laws, and federal guidelines for obstetric nursing care
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of labor and delivery nursing

• English reading, writing, and communication proficiency
• Reading and comprehension of written instructions, following verbal instructions, and PC proficiency
• Physical abilities: stationary position, moving about, moving equipment (50‑100lbs), push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel, maintain positive attitude and professionalism
• Technical/motor skills: fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about during procedures and equipment use
• Mental requirements: handle frequent public contact, meet deadlines under pressure, work under supervision occasionally, cope with irregular activity schedules, maintain continuous concentration to detail
