The Nursing Assistant (NA) serves as a caregiver to patients during scheduled shifts. The NA provides patient‑centered nursing care and daily living assistance under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).

• Assist patients with basic health care needs, including daily living activities, bathing, grooming, toileting, eating, meal preparation and dining needs, and emotional and spiritual support.
• Administer delegated tasks and treatments as directed.
• Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
• Collect non‑invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
• Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient health care.
• Prepare patient treatment areas for use, clean and maintain medical equipment, and dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
• Clean patient living areas or treatment rooms.
• Provide one‑on‑one care to patients when necessary for safe provision of care.

• High school graduate or GED (preferred, not required).
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.
• Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications.
• For North Dakota: if not a CNA, must be registered with the North Dakota Department of Health Nurse Aide Registry within four months of employment.
• For Wisconsin: must be registered with the Wisconsin Nurse Aid Registry with valid work eligibility.
