Advanced Practice Nurse Role
The Advanced Practice Nurse mobilizes expertise and skills in nursing sciences across various practice areas. They carry out missions across the institution and in collaboration with all partners.
In the context of clinical activities and consultation, the Advanced Practice Nurse:
- Participates in the comprehensive care of patients for whom they provide follow-up
- Exercises direct clinical practice with the patient and their entourage, particularly in complex care situations: patient follow-up, clinical evaluation with renewal and adaptation of medication prescriptions and/or prescriptions of therapeutic activities, complementary examinations...
- Contributes to the development of the patient's care and health pathway. They also participate in its coordination in interdisciplinary work (between the institution's services, between hospitalization and outpatient care, and with external partners)
- Contributes to health promotion, prevention (primary, secondary, tertiary) and education (ETP, psychoeducation, health education...).
In the context of guidance, clinical leadership, ethics, collaboration, and promotion of the nursing discipline, the Advanced Practice Nurse:
- Contributes to the development of the profession, including by acquiring a common language and reflective practices
- Designs, implements, and evaluates teaching and training actions for professionals, students, and users, based on the evaluation of needs
- Participates in the optimization of professional practices and the quality of care through:
- Analysis of professional practice, clinical nursing practice meetings
- Documentary surveillance work, writing scientific or professional articles
- Evidence-based practice (EBN, EBP)
- Ethical reflection, in respect of the rights of individuals
- Contributes to institutional dynamics within different instances.
In the context of research activities, the Advanced Practice Nurse:
- Dedicates 20% of their working time to research
- Uses various scientific and professional databases.
Day Hospital of Laxou:
- Coordination of care in collaboration with the pediatric psychiatrist responsible for the child receiving care within the structure. The CMP sector doctors are the responsible doctors for the children.
- Participation in the syntheses of children, writing of reports following the collection of information from various team members with readjustment of the therapeutic project based on observations and feedback from professionals.
- Restitution of the synthesis to the legal guardians with revision of the care project based on the request of the latter and the needs of the child.
Profile Sought- Links and exchanges with adult psychiatry when parents present psychiatric disorders requiring follow-up.
- Writing CERFA for MDPH files of children from the day hospital and sometimes orientation towards the attending physician
- Proposal for indirect practice analysis
- Writing of concerning information IP in conjunction with the social worker and the team of professionals.
- Work with the team on the improvement of written documents integrated into the computerized patient file.
Competencies:
- Ability to analyze and evaluate clinical situations of assigned patients and mastery of validated clinical evaluation tools.
- Making complex decisions in respect of patients' rights, professional ethics, and the code of professional deontology.
- Coordinating the care pathway of children.
