Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery (L&D) in Viroqua, Wisconsin, United States.

Start date:

08/24/2026. Duration: 12 weeks. Weekly pay: 2,566 to 2,711 USD per week. Guaranteed hours: 36 per week. Shift: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm-7:00 am), every 3rd weekend. Setting: travel temporary assignment in a hospital-based obstetric unit offering labor and delivery, postpartum, and mother-baby care in a Critical Access Hospital.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct, continuous nursing care for obstetric patients during labor, delivery, and postpartum periods
  • Monitor maternal and fetal status, interpret findings, respond to adverse events, and escalat as needed
  • Administer medications and conduct routine procedures per physician orders and policy
  • Assist with labor and delivery procedures and support newborn care, including initial assessments and stabilization
  • Support lactation counseling, mother-baby education, and family-focused care
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the electronic medical record; communicate with the care team to ensure safe transitions of care
Requirements
  • Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Wisconsin or eligible to obtain per state requirements
  • Experience in labor and delivery, postpartum, or newborn care preferred
  • Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 pm-7:00 am) and every 3rd weekend
  • Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills
  • Competence in standard obstetric nursing care and patient safety practices
  • Willingness to work in a hospital setting as part of a travel assignment
