RN Nurse Educator Requirements:
- Graduate from accredited school of nursing for Registered Nurses (RN).
- Must possess a current WI Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Must possess a current CPR/First Aid certification.
- Certification as Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) Certification trainer, preferred.
- Maintains certification/qualifications to be a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) instructor.
- Staff development and/or program development experience, preferred.
- 1 - 2 years' experience, preferred, working with senior populations
- Regulatory compliance of continuing care retirement community operations experience, preferred
What you'll do as an RN Nurse Educator:
- Evaluate and develop healthcare learning and development programs that maintain and enhance healthcare employees' clinical skills.
- Develop, refine, and maintain clinical orientation training program(s) for new staff, including facility policies, procedures, philosophy of care, and long-term care governing regulations.
- Work directly with Directors of Nursing and Administrators to determine gaps of skills and knowledge to cater educational opportunities towards.
- Demonstrate professional nursing practices and working knowledge of healthcare to promote best practices with staff of all skill levels.
- Assist in developing nursing policies and procedures - and verification methods - that reflect current clinical best practice, professional standards, and facility philosophy of care.
- Maintains certification as nurse aide training program primary instructor.
- Able to manage and conduct Certified Nursing Assistant classes at least four (4) times per year (quarterly) and/or as needed.
- Routinely attend departmental nursing meetings throughout campus.
- Maintain an active role in the Quality Assurance Performance Improvement Committee.
- Develops and maintains processes for implementing and tracking campus wide nursing annual mandatory education.
- Plans, conducts or arranges for yearly healthcare in-service in compliance with federal and state regulations in collaboration with healthcare leaders and administrators.
- Coordinate site approval and clinical rotation for nursing and nursing assistant students (i.e., schedule for students, develop ongoing relationship with local universities and Tech schools) where applicable.
- Develops and maintains process to make continuing education programs available to all applicable staff.
- Develop and deploy training assessment tool to identify training needs for nursing campus staff including nurse leadership team.
- Develop annual healthcare training calendar for campus.
- Implements and/or assists with the facilitation of workplace safety programs, including hazardous communication, occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens, workplace safety issues and fire/disaster preparedness.
- Develops, refines, and maintains effective training material using a variety of media.
- Continuously evaluates all healthcare training programs for effectiveness and alignment with best practices.
- Maintains files of lesson plans and attendance for all programs taught to employees and ensures training records are retained per company policy.
- Effectively communicates availability of learning opportunities throughout campus.
- Develop and maintain status as an American Heart Association (AHA) Training Site for CPR and First Aid.
- Maintains calendar of Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) classes available.
- Effectively facilitates CBRF classes based on calendar, and as needed, by the facility.
- Maintains training records in Relias learning system.
