Community Manager

Are you passionate about helping people, solving problems, and creating welcoming communities? We're looking for an energetic, organized, and people-focused Community Manager to oversee three unique affordable housing communities in beautiful Door County, Wisconsin.

As Community Manager, you'll be the heart of our communities by:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to current and prospective residents
  • Managing leasing activities, move-ins, move-outs, and resident retention
  • Ensuring compliance with Section 8 and Section 42 affordable housing programs
  • Processing certifications, recertifications, and required documentation
  • Maintaining resident files with accuracy and confidentiality
  • Coordinating maintenance requests and following projects through completion
  • Performing property inspections and maintaining high community standards
  • Building positive relationships with residents, vendors, and community partners
  • Preparing reports, budgets, and occupancy information
  • Marketing available apartments and maintaining strong occupancy levels

We're seeking someone who is:

  • Friendly, professional, and compassionate
  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail
  • A strong communicator who enjoys working with people
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities and properties
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and property management software
  • Experienced in affordable housing, leasing, property management, or customer service (preferred)

Experience with HUD Section 8, LIHTC (Section 42), or affordable housing compliance is a plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate with a positive attitude and strong work ethic.

Essential Duties

  • Ensure complexes and vacancies are ready for showings and move-in dates.
  • Effectively communicate property features and amenities to all prospects.
  • Answer questions to all prospects and potential applicants in a timely manner.
  • Conduct showings of vacant units to all interested prospects.
  • Greet all walk-in traffic during open office hours and attend to all needs, questions, or complaints.
  • Address resident concerns and all maintenance requests in a timely manner.
