Overview
The Center for Dairy Research (CDR) at UW‑Madison seeks a research specialist to support a growing, innovative unit. The position is based in Babcock Hall and focuses on chemical, physical, and functional analysis of dairy products for public and private research projects.
Key Job Responsibilities- Conduct experiments according to established protocols and collect data.
- Monitor test results and perform literature reviews.
- Analyze and interpret data for internal and external presentations.
- Maintain and calibrate analytical instruments and manage inventory.
- Train graduate students and hourly employees on equipment and procedures.
- Assist in method development in collaboration with CDR scientists.
- Experience working in an analytical laboratory setting.
- Experience in chemical analysis of foods using various analytical instruments.
- Experience with advanced techniques such as gas chromatography, ion chromatography, HPLC, and microscopy.
BS in Food Science, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or a related field.
