Overview
Cook needed for Summit's correctional facility in Chippewa Falls, WI to prepare high-volume, scratch-cooked meals, maintain food safety and portion control, and present meals in a fast-paced kitchen. Requires at least one year of culinary experience in high-volume settings, customer service skills, and ability to operate kitchen equipment; food handler certification is preferred. Position is full-time onsite, pays $18.00/hour with a $500 sign-on bonus after 120 days and standard benefits including medical, 401(k), paid time off, and tuition reimbursement.
What you’ll be doing- Quality and portion control
- Food preparation
- Creative food presentation
- Maintaining kitchen
- Ensuring food is stored properly
- Following safe food handling policies, procedures and recipes
Must-haves:
- At least one year’s prior culinary experience in a quality and high-volume establishment with an emphasis on scratch cooking
- Working knowledge of proper culinary methods, techniques, and standards
- Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in fast-paced environment
- Ability to use various kitchen equipment and tools as well as identify and differentiate food items
- Customer service experience is required
