Position SummaryWe are looking for a driven, team-oriented professional to fill the role of Assistant Store Manager at the Gage Lake Life Store located inside of Pier 290 Restaurant. The Assistant Store Manager is responsible for managing the sales associate team, scheduling, inventory, policies and procedures, and loss prevention. The role requires a deep knowledge of all products, maintenance of visual presentation standards, and routine education to staff on customer service principles, sales strategies, and product knowledge.
The Assistant Store Manager serves as the direct line of communication between the Sales Associate Team and the Store Buyer, helping bring Lake Life to life through curated products and custom apparel.
- Manage day-to-day operations of the Lake Life store including restocking, cleaning, cash procedures, inventory monitoring, sales & promotions, returns, exchanges, damage merchandise, special events, merchandising and display transitions.
- Recruit, train, recognize, and retain talented individuals to achieve sales and business goals.
- Co-plan and execute monthly all-staff training meetings with the Store Buyer. Prepare agendas, lead meetings, provide product and sales education, gather feedback, and support positive team dynamics.
- Provide weekly education to staff and routinely model communication and excellent customer service.
- Oversee and manage employee scheduling, resolve conflicts to ensure proper staffing at all times.
- Maintain an organized and stocked sales floor by assigning and participating in daily and weekly tasks for premium service and smooth store functioning.
- Support inventory management, including store, backstock, and items on order.
- Manage online purchases, shipping, processing, and occasional returns and exchanges.
- Plan, prepare, and execute inviting and clean merchandise displays. Maintain regular updates, refresh displays, and uphold visual standards to reflect the brand highest possible.
- Meet weekly with the Store Buyer.
- Other duties as assigned.
- $18-$22/Hour based on experience
- 40+ hours per week during peak season (March-October)
- 30+ hours per week during off-season (November-February)
- Must be available to work summer holidays, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day.
- Required to work four weekend shifts a month (Friday, Saturday, or Sunday), two of which must be a closing shift (1:30pm - 8:30pm).

- 10 days vacation after the first six months of service

- At least one year of retail experience or comparable experience and transferable skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Excellent organization skills and attention to detail.

- Technologically savvy and able to troubleshoot day-to-day challenges with hardware and systems.
- Experience with Shopify POS preferred.
- Ability to stand and walk for lengthy periods of time.
- Lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
- Bending, rotating, climbing, and reaching in a retail environment.
- Confidence in using a step ladder and assisted tools to change merchandise displays.
