Assembler & Sales Associate

Will be responsible for assembling and processing items for display and items sold to customers. This position will assemble per manufacturers instructions and guidelines to ensure the product is ready for use. This position will also require when not assembling to engage customers on the sales floor and assist in the sale of goods as directed by the manager.

• Ability to work with tools and follow manufacturers set up instructions. 1-3 years retail experience is helpful along with any hands-on assembly work.

• Provide excellent customer service by having a strong understanding of products and services to address customer questions.
• Responsible for assembling items per manufacturer's guidelines
• Checking and verifying fluid levels before the sale of gas-powered items
• Explain benefits and features of merchandise to customers and suggest add-on merchandise
• Maintain general knowledge of all products; may need to have expertise in specific product areas
• Maintaining assembled items on display for correct pricing and cleanliness
• Reviewing after the sale warranty and safety features to customers; ensuring these are explained and recorded
• Answer telephone and customer questions within established guidelines
• Practice and maintain security measures
• Communicate out-of-stocks using hot sheet/new item requests
• Utilize radio in a professional manner to seek assistance if needed
• Assist customers with check out and carryouts
• Maintain accuracy of shelf tagging, arrange merchandise by shelf label, and set up merchandise displays
• Maintain a clean work area, disposing of all packing material
• Receive merchandise shipments, and check them against receiving reports
• Remove merchandise from packaging, match items with stock numbers, and price and tag merchandise
• Restock shelves and displays and assemble products as needed
• Process Interstore transfers
• Cleaning duties, which include but aren't limited to: facing merchandise, dusting shelves/displays and merchandise, sweeping and vacuuming, cleaning windows, and emptying trash
• Maintain cleanliness and merchandising that meets or exceeds Theisen's Brand requirements
• Other tasks as requested by management may include but are not limited to: checking desk/mail box, preparing and participating in physical inventory, unloading warehouse delivery trucks, delivering merchandise to customers, and running cash registers

Frequent physical demands include lifting up to 25 lbs., walking, standing, bending, reaching, dexterity and light grasping. Occasional physical demands include lifting up to and over 50 lbs., climbing stairs, squatting, and firmly grasping. The associate is required to talk and hear. Must be able to work required shifts including nights and weekends, and maintain attendance standards. Specific vision abilities required by this job include vision adequate for the incumbent to perform the responsibilities and functions of the job efficiently.

The associate must have the manual dexterity to manually operate and use a computer/cash register and/or RF.
