A Key Account Specialist will be responsible for supporting and growing existing business relationships and gaining market share with key accounts for Wausau Supply Co (WSC). A Key Account Specialist will guide and service key accounts and vendors to Wausau Supply and ensure those customers have an unmatched industry experience. They will also work with the Regional Sales team of these key accounts to develop the appropriate action that is needed to defend existing business as well as gain new business.
A Key Account Specialist will need to develop relationships with key personnel at all levels of these high value customers.
- Be available to take routed inbound calls from key accounts
- Help quote, organize, and order entry with large projects
- Leverage outstanding Customer Service to pursue sales targets and promotions with ethical professionalism
- Contribute strategically to the maintaining and growing of products and services for key accounts and vendors
- Accountable for ongoing product knowledge training to keep current with product changes
- Collaborate with the Outside Sales Team to identify and leverage cross-selling opportunities for key accounts
- Travel in the field calling on key accounts as required
- Communicate regularly with management to include: market conditions, customer needs, and service issues
- Maintain appropriate CRM records to help organize and close opportunities for key accounts
- Above average verbal and written communication skills
- Above average organizational skills and the ability to manage many contacts, accounts, channels, and markets
- Strong people skills in order to developing and sustaining relationships that would result in advanced sales of our key product lines
- Be able to glean and share market information
- Follow up with any leads given regarding their key accounts or vendors
- Independent decision making skills and initiative
- Willingness to accept coaching, criticism, and the ideas of others
- Above average cooperation skills to include empathy and patience
- High level working knowledge of the building material industry
- Display professional behavior to all internal and external contacts in conjunction with policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook
