Overview

Shop Foreman (Construction)

The County Materials Family of Companies manufactures and delivers concrete construction products to meet the demand for growing communities. We rely on our talented and dedicated team members to provide reliable products with personalized service.

We are seeking a Shop Foreman for [DIVISION OR ENTITY] at [LOCATION].

Responsibilities
  • Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of shop employees.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
  • Schedules up to 10 mechanics daily.
  • Plans and coordinates tasks and activities of company fleet auto repair shop, working on gas- and diesel-powered vehicles, trucks and heavy equipment.
  • Prepares maintenance schedules for motor vehicles and heavy equipment; notifies drivers and operators when maintenance is to be performed.
Work Environment

Work in indoor and outdoor weather conditions, including extreme hot or cold temperatures. Work near moving machinery and equipment - could include electrical hazards. Work in a noisy environment.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in diesel mechanics or related field.
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent mechanical skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Extensive knowledge of gas- and diesel-powered engine repair.
  • Extensive knowledge of vehicle, truck and heavy equipment repair.
  • Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
  • Ability to read service and repair manuals.
  • Hand and power tool experience.
  • Proficient with computer diagnostic equipment and software.
