Trailer Mechanic - 3rd Shift (Full Time)
Location: Allenton, WI 53002
Kreilkamp Trucking is a leading provider of transportation and logistics services. We are committed to providing exceptional service to our customers and maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality. We are currently seeking experienced Trailer Mechanics to join our dynamic team.
Job OverviewAs a Trailer Mechanic at Kreilkamp Trucking, you will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing various components of trailers and heavy‑duty vehicles used for hauling large goods. You will use specialized tools and your technical expertise to ensure our equipment is safe, reliable, and in optimal condition.
Shift: Monday through Friday; 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM
Key Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on reefer units including Thermo King and Carrier
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components of refrigeration units
- Maintain accurate service records, including documentation of performed repairs and parts used
- Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to coordinate timely maintenance and repair schedules
- Ensure adherence to all company policies and regulatory safety standards
- Collaborate with the Shop Coordinator to ensure efficient completion of repairs and maintenance
- Perform preventive maintenance and routine technical repairs
- Ensure the work area is clean and organized
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment during all repair and maintenance tasks
- Complete repair orders and enter data accurately into the computer system
- HSED/GED or equivalent required
- Certification from a one- or two-year program in mechanics is advantageous
- DOT Certified and able to sign DOT paperwork
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL A or B is preferred
- Computer and diagnostic skills are required
- Effective written and oral communication skills are essential
- Basic mathematical skills with the ability to make accurate arithmetic calculations
- Ability to read and understand operating procedures and technical information
- Able to handle the pressure of working with a high-volume workload
