Position: Heavy Equipment Operator-Limited Term Employment
Location: Camp Douglas

Position Summary

Heavy Equipment Operators at Volk Field perform maintenance and repair of runways, roads, parking lots, and grounds under the direction of the Building and Grounds Supervisor. The position will operate heavy equipment to complete a variety of construction and maintenance tasks, including trenching, grading, and snow removal.

Salary Information

Pay will be $25.98 per hour.

Job Details

In order to gain access to military facilities and to determine whether the circumstances of any conviction may be related to the job being filled, DMA will conduct a comprehensive background check.

Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a valid driver's license as a condition of continued employment.

Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) as a condition of employment

Ability to lift to 50 pounds, bend, stoop, twist and climb ladders.

Previous or current military experience is not a requirement.

All new permanent, project, and limited term employees will be required to report to Joint Force Headquarters (JFHQ) in Madison on the Monday of their first week of employment for the New Employee Orientation (NEO) program. Additional information will be sent to the new employees and their supervisors on Tuesday prior to NEO.

Candidates who meet the minimum qualifications will have training and/or experience with:

* Knowledge of basic construction or maintenance practices such as trenching, grading, paving, concrete work, or snow removal.

* Experience performing maintenance or construction work involving runways, roads, parking lots, or grounds.
