Position: Boyd Thermal by Eaton - Maintenance Technician
Location: Allenton

The Maintenance Technician is a member of Boyd Allenton’s Maintenance team. In a nutshell, our Maintenance Technicians are responsible for asset maintenance and preservation. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in electrical and pneumatic system troubleshooting and repair. Ability to work as a team and good communication skills are key components for success in this role.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform a wide variety of highly skilled maintenance work to maintain structures, electrical system, heating systems, plumbing, machine repair, hydraulics, pneumatics, etc.
  • May assign, instruct, and lay out work for Maintenance Technician of lower classifications
  • May troubleshoot and re‑program or program and edit programmable logic controllers (Allen‑Bradley)
  • Evaluate and troubleshoot PLCs
  • Observe all Boyd safety and OSHA guidelines and procedures
  • Support and follow the QMS requirements
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
  • In‑depth knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic repair
  • Knowledge of PLCs
  • Basic reasoning skills and language skills
  • Ability to read, complete, and analyze general business and shop paperwork
  • Can effectively present information and respond to questions/requests from managers, employees, and customers
  • Ability to work with people at all levels of the organization and communicate professionally at all times
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Strong attention to detail with focus on company quality standards
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Good analytical and decision‑making skills
  • Strong organization and time‑management skills with ability to prioritize work based on business needs
  • Must be able to follow directions and work in a team environment
  • Previous manufacturing experience
Physical Requirements
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, kneel, crouch, talk, and hear
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch tools, equipment, and/or controls
  • Must have ability to occasionally lift up to 100 pounds
