Job Title
The technician is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and audit of ventilation systems. They work on a variety of installations: professional kitchen hoods, mechanical ventilation (MVC) and air treatment centers (CTA), in residential (apartment buildings), tertiary (offices, shops, restaurants, hotels, health facilities, schools) and industrial (factories, workshops, warehouses, laboratories) environments.
They ensure the compliance, performance, and safety of the installations.
Installation and setup
- Reading and interpreting technical plans and aeraulic diagrams
- Installation of ventilation networks (circular and rectangular ducting)
- Installation of professional kitchen hoods
- Installation of simple and double flow mechanical ventilation systems
- Installation of air treatment centers (CTA)
- Installation of supports, fixtures, and accessories (silencers, registers, vents, etc.)
- Basic aeraulic and electrical connections
- Verification of the conformity of the installation to plans and technical prescriptions
Commissioning
- Adjustment of air flows
- Balancing of aeraulic networks
- Functionality tests of installations
- Validation of proper functioning and conformity to expected performance and current standards
- Writing of commissioning reports
Maintenance and troubleshooting
- Diagnosis of breakdowns and malfunctions
- Intervention on defective systems (motors, fans, etc.)
- Replacement of worn or defective parts
- Verification of the cleanliness and maintenance of networks
- Preventive and corrective maintenance: checking fixtures and network, adjustment (balancing, pressure), checking air flow, checking installation.
- Writing of intervention reports
Audit and control of systems
- Inspection of existing installations
- Analysis of energy and aeraulic performances
- Measurement of flows, pressures, and air quality
- Verification of regulatory compliance and global analysis of the performances of existing installations
- Identification of non-conformities and improvement axes
- Proposal of technical solutions and optimization
- Writing of detailed audit reports
Working conditions
- Work on site and in occupied environments (restaurants, homes, industries, etc.)
- Itinerant and frequent travel
- Work at height and work on electrical installations
- Wearing of personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Variable hours depending on sites and emergencies
- Education:
CAP / BEP / Bac Pro / BTS in climate engineering, energy or equivalent - Experience:
Beginner accepted (training possible) or desired experience in ventilation / HVAC - B permit required
