Job Summary:

The Master Electrician will oversee the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems for various projects. This role requires extensive knowledge of electrical systems and codes, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to lead a team of electricians and apprentices. The ideal candidate will ensure that all electrical systems are installed and maintained in compliance with local, state, and national codes and standards, ensuring safety and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with specifications and building codes.

  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to perform work accurately.

  • Inspect electrical components, such as transformers and circuit breakers, to identify hazards, defects, or necessary repairs.

  • Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide solutions to minimize downtime.

  • Conduct tests and inspections of electrical systems to ensure proper functioning and safety.

  • Oversee, mentor, and train apprentices and junior electricians.

  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other trades to plan and execute electrical tasks in alignment with project timelines.

  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other local and state regulations.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of electrical codes, safety protocols, and emerging technology in the electrical field.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Valid Master Electrician license in KY.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

  • Education: High school diploma or GED; additional technical training or certification is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of electrical theory, circuitry, and safety protocols.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints and schematics.
  • Proficiency in using hand and power tools commonly used in the electrical trade.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills for managing and mentoring team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and various weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, or weekends as project demands require.
