Job Summary:

The Master Plumber is responsible for managing and executing all aspects of plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair on construction projects. This role involves interpreting blueprints, adhering to plumbing codes, and supervising a team of plumbers and apprentices. The Master Plumber ensures plumbing systems are correctly installed, inspected, and maintained according to project specifications, ensuring reliability and safety for all users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipes, fixtures, and water and drainage systems.
  • Interpret blueprints, specifications, and building plans to determine layout for plumbing installations.
  • Inspect plumbing systems to identify and resolve issues, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes.
  • Troubleshoot plumbing issues and implement effective solutions to minimize project delays.
  • Conduct pressure tests, leak detection, and quality control inspections on plumbing systems.
  • Supervise, train, and mentor a team of plumbers, apprentices, and helpers.
  • Collaborate with project managers and other trades to plan and execute tasks within project timelines.
  • Ensure all plumbing installations meet local, state, and national codes and safety standards.
  • Stay updated on plumbing regulations, best practices, and advancements in plumbing technology.

Qualifications:

  • Certification: Valid Master Plumber license in KY.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years as a licensed plumber, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; additional technical training or certification is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Extensive knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and building codes.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
    • Proficiency with plumbing tools and equipment.
    • Strong troubleshooting skills and problem‑solving ability.
    • Excellent communication and leadership skills for training and overseeing team members.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in tight spaces, at heights, and in various weather conditions.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Willingness to work overtime, nights, or weekends as project demands require.
