Job Description
The maintenance technician’s role is to keep the plant and equipment running in a safe and efficient manner. Maintains and repairs building and equipment, carrying out responsibilities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities- Manage start-up to make sure equipment is in proper operating condition.
- Diagnose equipment defects and perform necessary repairs.
- Maintain, repair and troubleshoot machinery, ovens, mechanical lift trucks, and facilities problems to support production and efficiency.
- Operate various machines – Band Saw, Break Press, Mill, Lathe, Grinder, etc. – safely.
- Inspect machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
- Maintain all areas of the shop, boiler room, and the interior/exterior of the plant.
- Troubleshoot electrical functions such as motors, controls, PLCs, and basic wiring.
- Coordinate with management and suppliers to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations.
- Complete Preventative Maintenance tasks as assigned.
- Assist with inventory control of tools and parts on hand.
- Operate mechanical forklift, pallet jack, battery charger, and stock picker.
- Follow GMPs, HACCP training, and company SOP and SSOP programs.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Perform all duties within OSHA and company safety standards; apply LOTO, wear PPE, and maintain safety equipment.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.
- Immediately report all accidents and deficiencies to the lead/foreman/supervisor/manager.
- Ensure safety devices are installed and working properly.
- Know occupational hazards and safety precautions.
Week 1:
Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Week 2:
Wednesday and Thursday 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM
Required
Education:
High school diploma or GED
Required Experience: 1–5 years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Preferred- Basic knowledge of manufacturing
- Facility maintenance experience
- Industrial mechanical experience
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electronics
- Knowledge of electrical/mechanical safety practices
- Prior knowledge of food processing equipment (helpful)
- Electrical troubleshooting of 120/240/480 V 3‑phase systems
- Troubleshooting PLC and frequency drives
- Welding (MIG and TIG)
- Associate’s degree or technical certification in machining or electrical
- Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating/maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Write routine breakdown, preventive maintenance, and other maintenance‑related reports and correspondence
- Intermediate verbal communication skills in English
- Perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Solve practical problems amid limited standardization
- Interpret instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Know materials, tools, methods, and techniques used in mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic trades (e.g., welding, tap measuring, band saw, lathe, caliper, micrometer)
- Self‑motivated; work unsupervised and with teams

The hiring range for this role is $25.46 – $38.19 hourly. Actual wages may vary. Base pay is part of Jack Link’s Total Rewards package, which includes

Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, talk or hear. Occasionally required to sit, reach, lift, and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities: close vision.
Work EnvironmentPlant / office setting with varying temperatures and noise levels. Exposure to manufacturing equipment movement and wet/slippery floors. Travel may be required.
