Controls Technician

QPS Employment Group is hiring a Controls Technician for a company in Walworth, WI. This is a direct hire opportunity on 3rd or Weekend shift.

Controls Technician Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Repair and maintain electrical and process control systems to support safe and reliable production operations
• Troubleshoot 480V electrical systems and related components
• Install, calibrate, maintain, and repair instrumentation used in process controls, valves, actuators, analytical systems, and pneumatic devices
• Troubleshoot and program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Troubleshoot Allen Bradley PLCs, HMIs, and automation components
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, P&IDs, and loop drawings
• Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on electrical and instrumentation equipment
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions to improve reliability
• Utilize root cause analysis to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues
• Document maintenance activities through the maintenance management system
• Assist with developing and improving preventative maintenance programs
• Maintain accurate maintenance procedures and documentation
• Assist with parts inventory management
• Coordinate maintenance activities with operations, contractors, and plant personnel
• Perform mechanical maintenance tasks as needed
• Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned
• Provide training and mentorship to team members as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned

Controls Technician Requirements:

• Technical college education preferred or equivalent industrial experience
• 3+ years of industrial electrical, instrumentation, controls, or maintenance experience preferred
• Experience troubleshooting electrical systems, PLCs, HMIs, and VFDs
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documentation
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
• Ability to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, and work at heights
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures and humidity levels
