Maintenance Technician
The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing electrical and mechanical systems used in ingredient processing. The role requires working with various technologies to ensure equipment reliability and compliance with industry standards.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems used in ingredient processing.
- Work with PLCs, motor controls, VFDs, and process sensors such as temperature, flow, and pressure.
- Calibrate instruments like pressure, temperature, pH, and flow sensors to ensure accurate control and data collection in the fermentation process.
- Support utility systems including boiler operations and steam distribution, compressed air systems, ammonia refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
- Assist with equipment installations and upgrades.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on processing equipment such as fermenters, centrifuges, pumps, agitators, heat exchangers, and CIP systems.
- Read schematics and P&IDs to diagnose and resolve issues efficiently.
- Collaborate with operations, engineering, and QA teams in a clean, regulated environment.
- Log maintenance activities using CMMS.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, GMP, and other regulatory requirements.
- Participate in environmental education/training and adhere to applicable environmental policies and procedures.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a processing or manufacturing environment (food, beverage, or chemical/ingredient preferred).
- Technical degree or certification in Electro-Mechanical, Mechatronics, or Industrial Maintenance.
- Strong troubleshooting skills in both electrical and mechanical areas.
- Experience working with sanitary systems is a plus.
- Comfort working in non-conveyor process environments like fermenters, centrifuges, pumps, tanks, and pipe systems.
