Kohler is seeking an experienced Electrical Technician IV to support advanced manufacturing operations in our electrical systems and equipment. In this senior role, you will install, troubleshoot, and repair complex industrial control systems, motors, PLCs, VFDs, and power distribution for production lines. You will interpret electrical schematics, perform preventive maintenance, lead root-cause analysis, and recommend design improvements that enhance safety, uptime, and energy efficiency.
Partner with engineers and production teams, mentor junior technicians, and help implement innovative, sustainable solutions that reflect Kohler's commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and gracious living.
Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, and repair complex industrial electrical and control systems for manufacturing equipment.
- Interpret and update electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on electrical systems to maximize uptime.
- Diagnose equipment failures using test instruments and structured root-cause analysis.
- Support PLCs, VFDs, sensors, and related automation hardware and software.
- Ensure compliance with electrical codes, NFPA 70
- E, and Kohler safety standards, including LOTO.
- Collaborate with engineering and production to implement equipment upgrades and improvements.
- Document maintenance activities, parts usage, and system changes in CMMS or related systems.
- Mentor and train junior technicians in safe, effective electrical troubleshooting practices.
- Participate in continuous improvement and energy-efficiency initiatives across the plant.
